🔒 TL;DR

We log your API requests (including prompts and completions) and may use them as training data. We don't use cookies, tracking, or analytics. We don't sell individual personal data.

1. Data We Collect

When you use the Lyumen API, we automatically log:

  • Request prompts and message content
  • Model completions and responses
  • Timestamps
  • Model requested
  • User agent string
  • Country-level location (derived from IP via Cloudflare headers)

We do not collect: names, email addresses, account credentials, or any personal identification information. There is no sign-up or authentication.

2. How We Use Data

Logged request data may be used for:

  • Training machine learning models
  • Research and analysis
  • Selling as part of datasets to third parties
  • Service monitoring and debugging

This is the core trade-off: free inference in exchange for data. We are transparent about it.

3. What We Don't Do

  • No cookies or browser tracking
  • No analytics (Google Analytics, etc.)
  • No advertising or ad networks
  • No sale of individual personal data
  • No account creation or authentication
  • No email collection or newsletters

4. Data Retention

Request logs are stored indefinitely in our database. There is currently no automated deletion process. We reserve the right to delete data at any time without notice.

5. Third Parties

API requests are proxied through upstream LLM providers. These providers may have their own privacy policies regarding the data they process. We do not control their data practices.

Aggregated and anonymized datasets derived from request logs may be sold or shared with third parties for training and research purposes.

6. Your Responsibilities

Since all request data is logged and may be shared:

  • Do not send sensitive personal information through the API
  • Do not send passwords, API keys, or credentials
  • Do not send confidential or proprietary content

7. Changes

This policy may be updated at any time. Continued use of the API after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
